Built for Kenya,
from across the world.
StudyPlugHub Kenya is a free, AI-powered learning platform built around the KICD CBE curriculum — for every Kenyan student, teacher, and family.
Why Kenya
Kenya is writing the next chapter in African education. The CBE transition has reshaped what every Kenyan learner can reach — and behind that ambition, students, teachers, and families are working hard with less than they need.
Teachers are overworked. Class sizes are large. KCSE prep is relentless. Parents want to support their children but don’t always have the tools. And while Kenya has world-class educational frameworks — KICD, KNEC, the Ministry of Education — there are still gaps between what the curriculum promises and what learners can practically reach.
StudyPlugHub Kenya exists to close those gaps. Built around the curriculum teachers actually teach, the exams students actually sit, and the cultural context families actually live in.
Jambo 🇰🇪
“My name is Derick. I work as an NDIS Team Leader in Geelong, Australia by day, and I build StudyPlugHub by night.
I’m originally from Ghana, and this platform now serves Africa. Frema and Berur — my two AI personas — carry the names of my children.
I built this because I wanted every African student to have the tutor I wish I’d had at their age, and every teacher to have the breathing room they deserve.
From Ghana to Australia, building by night while working by day — the through-line has always been the same.
This is a one-person project for now. But it’s built for many.”
What we’ve built so far
Honest milestones. No inflation. What you see is what Kenyan students and teachers can use today.
11 Junior CBE subjects shipped
Full Junior School coverage: Grade 7 to Grade 9, aligned to the KICD CBE Junior School design. All 11 subjects anchored to KNEC KJSEA.
36 Senior CBE subjects shipped
Full Senior School coverage: Grade 10 to Grade 12, across all four KICD pathways — STEM, Social Sciences, Arts & Sports Science, and Technical.
29 KCSE 8-4-4 subjects shipped
Form 1 to Form 4, anchored to KNEC KCSE past papers and Chief Examiner intelligence. Serving every cohort still completing the legacy 8-4-4 system through the transition to CBE.
KICD-grounded curriculum
Curriculum data grounded in official KICD CBE designs for Junior and Senior School. Every claim is traceable to a strand, sub-strand, and learning outcome.
Kiswahili at the core
Kiswahili is covered as a core subject across both CBE and KCSE — Kenya’s national language, central to the atlas, not an afterthought.
Free for every Kenyan family
No card. No subscription. No premium tier. The platform is free for individual students, teachers, and parents — always.
Higher education welcome
Tools designed to support university students, polytechnic learners, and lecturers — for research, writing, and study support.
Some subjects are richer in pedagogical exemplars than others. We’re thickening the thinner ones month by month. We’ll always tell you which is which.
What we believe
Learn it. Don’t fake it. isn’t a slogan. It’s the rule we hold ourselves to.
AI that teaches students to think, not think for them.
Frema and Berur use Socratic prompts. They guide. They don’t just answer. A student who finishes a session should be smarter, not just done.
Free, always, for every Kenyan family.
No subscription. No paywalled chapters. No data harvesting for ads. Free isn’t a marketing campaign — it’s the architecture.
Culturally grounded.
Harambee, safari, Mount Kenya, Nairobi CBD, ugali, the Maasai Mara. We use Kenya’s own examples to teach Kenya’s own curriculum.
Locally built, locally serving, locally accountable.
Built by an African founder. Serving Kenyans. Open to feedback from Kenyans. We don’t pretend to know what we don’t.
Privacy-respecting.
Your child’s learning data is not for sale. We don’t sell to advertisers. We don’t profile children.
Open to partnership.
KICD, KNEC, the Ministry of Education Kenya, schools, parents’ associations, forward-thinking institutions — we’re built to work with you.
What’s next
The honest roadmap. No vapor. No vague “coming soon” that never arrives.
- 1
Deepen the Senior CBE atlas
The Senior CBE atlas is shipped across all four pathways. Now we thicken it — more pedagogical exemplars per learning outcome, more Kenyan context, richer KICD alignment for every STEM, Social Sciences, Arts and Technical subject.
- 2
Thicken pedagogical depth across every subject
Some subjects shipped lean. We’re going back, subject by subject, adding pedagogical exemplars, additional KCSE-anchored questions, and richer Kenyan context.
- 3
Deeper Kiswahili support
Kiswahili is already a core subject. Next: deeper Swahili-medium support, so a student can think in the language they think in, and learn in the language they sit exams in.
- 4
Offline mode
For students in areas with patchy connectivity. Download a subject. Study without data. Sync when you’re back online.
- 5
Pursuing alignment with KICD and KNEC
Open partnership conversations, in good faith, with KICD, KNEC, and the Ministry of Education — the institutions that shape Kenyan education.
- 6
Pan-African expansion
Kenya and Ghana are both live. South Africa’s NSC spine is operational. Nigeria covers JSS and SSS. The platform keeps growing — more countries, more curricula, more students served.
Walk through a door
